Titan Gives Back

Since Titan was founded, Coach Hanah wanted to create a club that developed athletes on and off the court. Through the Titan Gives Back program, the club and its staff has been committed to serving our community. It is a difficult lesson to teach, but the pride and maturity that comes with putting others first is a characteristic we want to instill in our athletes. Titan truly believes that we have the opportunity to make an impact on the community. We strongly believe in the Titan Gives Back program and we thank everyone for their participation and support.

FIRST ANNUAL GOLF TOURNAMENT

On September 10th 2016  Titan hosted their First Annual Golf Tournament to support St. Jude Children’s Hospital and Athena’s Wheels. It was a day of golf, food, and fun!

Thanks to those who played, sponsored a hole, and donated, families will never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing or food – because all a family should worry about is helping their child live.

Treatments invented at St. Jude have helped push the overall childhood cancer survival rate from 20% to more that 80% since it opened more than 50 years ago.

Together we can help St. Jude’s change the world.

Every day can be a struggle for people with disabilities, but thanks to Athena’s Wheels they don’t have to face it alone. Athena’s Wheels is a charity that provides equipment and tools to disabled people making it possible for them to participate in the world around them.

SJSU + TITAN = CLINIC

Over the years, Titan Athletics and the SJSU Women's Volleyball Program developed our relationship. Through this relationship, we were able to host a joint FREE clinic for players in 8th grade and under. The clinic was led by Coach Jolene Shepardson, Head Coach for the SJSU Women's Volleyball team, along with some of their players.
One of the great things about this team is its diversity. The team has many international players, including a few players from Brazil.  And this summer, they have the opportunity to travel to Brazil to train and to help prepare for the upcoming Fall season.  However, they need our help!  Therefore, we accepted donations at the door and all the proceeds went to the team!

CHRISTMAS IN THE PARK

Every year all of our NCVA Volleyball teams come together and decorate trees for display in Christmas in the Park.

Christmas in the Park is not only a great, free event for families and friends to enjoy during the holiday season, but also benefits the community and local businesses. Christmas in the Park is an anchor event during the holiday season. It brings families of all different backgrounds to Downtown San Jose, and from there, they decide where they want to go to dinner, or what show they want to see. This event is great for the economy because it brings so much business to local companies, restaurants, and attractions.

MAKING STRIDES

Titan has participated in the Making Strides Walk since 2015. In 2016 we cheered participants as they walked through Downtown San Jose.

The American Cancer Society Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk is a powerful event to raise awareness and funds to end breast cancer. As the largest network of breast cancer events in the nation, the noncompetitive 3- to 5-mile walks unite communities with a shared determination to create a world free from the pain and suffering of breast cancer. Passionate participants raise critical funds enabling the Society to fund innovative breast cancer research; provide free, comprehensive information and support to those touched by breast cancer; and help people reduce their breast cancer risk or find it early when it’s most treatable.
